I live in the beautiful ancient city of York, North Yorkshire, with my family and our West Highland White Terrier, Clyde.
I was taught to knit as a small girl by my mother and grandmother many, many moons ago; I recall knitting endless scarves and jumpers for my Tiny Tears and Katie Copycat dolls. However, my passion really developed when my own children were born over 20 years ago. Matinee sets, shawls, cardigans, dresses, jumpers even toys and dolls, my needles clicked away constantly. My mother must have had the patience of a saint, as I have tried numerous times to teach my own daughters to knit, without much success, I am afraid.
Recently, I realised my needles had laid dormant for the best part of 15 years, mainly due to the busy lifestyles we all seem to lead these days, so out of the attic they came. I had been searching for a hand knitted tea cosy for my new tea pot, but couldn’t find one suitable, so I decided to knit one myself. This was as good a time as any to get back into the swing of things.
It wasn’t long before my own family and friends were commissioning my designs and Rosy Lea was born
